Cartmel Cheese Shop
Cartmel Cheeses is a small artisan cheese shop, offering handmade small-batch British cheeses which can be found on our cheese boards at all of our restaurants in The Lakes. They also serve fresh bread, chutneys and pickles to accompany your cheese selection.
Unsworth's Yard Brewery
Unsworth's Yard Brewery can be found in a landscaped courtyard within the centre of Cartmel, next to Cartmel Cheeses. David Unsworth and the team brew a range of beers including our very own pale ale, known as Anvil. Find their beers at our restaurants, in local pubs and at their popular tap bar and drink shop.

Yew Tree Barn in Newton
At Yew Tree Barn, owned by restoration expert Clive Wilson, you'll find a selection of antiques and gifts, as well as the award-winning Harry’s cafe, making it a must-visit destination.
Cartmel Village shop
In this small shop on the edge of the village square, the beloved Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding was born nearly 20 years ago. The team here pioneered this special recipe, alongside those for a range of comforting desserts and have now become a leading supplier across the whole country. The shop also includes deli items, fresh produce and store cupboard essentials.
Perfect English
An independent shop run by a mother and daughter duo, offering a carefully selected collection of luxury goods for you and your home. The selection of gifts, jewellery and trinkets are perfect for treating yourself or a loved one.
Low Sizergh Barn Farm Shop
This farm shop is full of produce from raw milk from their own cows to award-winning cheese. You can also wander on the farm trail, and watch the milking from the cafe at 3.30pm.
Lovingly Artisan Bakery
Lovingly Artisan Bakery, located at Plumgarths near Kendal, creates hand-crafted, slowly fermented sourdough and baked goods using organic flours. Served as part of our breakfast at Rogan & Co, the recipes have been developed and honed by award-winning local baker Aidan Monks.
Cavendish Arms
Visit this family-owned 500-year-old village inn for a quintessential country pub experience. With a riverside courtyard and cosy interiors with roaring fires, it’s a great location for any weather.
Royal Oak
The Royal Oak is a 17th Century pub in Cartmel square, serving local craft ales from their own brewery, Fell Brewery. They have rooms to stay and a spacious riverside garden.

Old Stamp House
The Old Stamp House occupies a site once the office of William Wordsworth, when he held the position of Distributor of Stamps for Westmorland. In the restaurant chef patron Ryan Blackburn creates dishes inspired by the fells, lakes, woods and coast of Cumbria, with Herdwick something of a speciality.
